Fidose of Reality has two announcements to share today with regards to the Wigglebutts Go Hollywoof “fun”-draiser we are hosting to benefit OBG Cocker Rescue on September 20, 2014, in Sterling, Virginia.
Let’s get right to the two big announcements and how you, fellow dog lovers of the highest order, can get involved right away:
The DPFamily PupScouts is proud to reveal that members of any PupScout troop affiliated with DPFamily can earn a “Hollywoof” badge in conjunction with attending Wigglebutts Go Hollywoof!
For those unfamiliar, the DPFamily PupScouts, here’s the scoop. If you were ever a brownie or Cub Scout, or perhaps a Girl Scout, you know how much fun it can be. Imagine if someone did the same for dogs and created Dog Scouts or Pup Scouts, where dogs of all shapes, sizes, and ages are welcome to earn a variety of badges. Well, this is what DPFamily PupScouts is all about. Your dog can be a PupScout, and for anyone who is already a DPFamily PupScout member across the world, read on: Here’s how to earn a Hollywoof badge.
How to Earn an Exclusive Hollywoof PupScouts Badge
Attend the Wigglebutts Go Hollywoof gala on 09/20/14. All Pup Scouts of DPFamily Troop 4 or any troop associated with DPFamily in attendance will receive the exclusive badge if the criteria below is met. Must be present to receive the patch. An exclusive group photo in uniforms will also be taken that evening.
How to Earn the Hollywoof Badge for DPFamily Member PupScouts
- Buy a ticket for Hollywoof before they sell out. As of March 3, 2014, we are half sold out and plan to be sold out in the near future. Purchase here: Wigglebutts Go Hollywoof
- Follow Fidose of Reality on Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/FidoseofReality
- You must be a member in good standing of DPFamily PupScouts on 09/20/14, the date of the Hollywoof event.
- You must Facebook three times or more a month about the event from the day you purchase your ticket until September 12, 2014 or until the event sells out, whichever comes first.
- You, as a DPFamily PupScouts member, will choose a rescue you want to be associated with and make a Facebook post saying that they (PupScout so and so) proudly promotes Such and Such shelter? And then share one or more of the pups at that shelter who need a home on your Facebook page. The goal is for you, as a PupScout of DPFamily, to help raise awareness of dogs in need of their forever home.
- In keeping with the Hollywoof theme, post a picture of your doggie DPFamily PupScout WITH a Celebrity OR post a picture of your doggie DPFamily PupScout dressed as a Celebrity.

If anyone wants to earn the new Pup Scout Badge that is exclusive to anyone attending the Hollywoof event in September of 2014 and become a Pup Scout, you can visit pupscouts.org and register to start your own troop or join troop 50, which is the online troop. My dear pal, Tasha Bella Godwin, can fill you in with any questions. Dexter and Zoe are Pup Scouts and you can be one, too. It’s a lot of fun and you do neat things with your dog for badges. Here is the second big announcement, and we are wagging furiously to share this with you all:
The day after the big Wigglebutts Go Hollywoof event will now be dedicated to a pet-friendly day of fun at the Barrel Oaks Winery!
That’s right: Book your room to stay over the night of the Hollywoof gala at our host hotel. The actual event takes place on Saturday, September 20, 2014, at Olde Towne Pet Resort in Sterling, Virginia. The hotel is for accommodations. The actual event is taking place at Olde Towne Pet Resort.
On Sunday, September 21st, you are invited to bring your pet to the Barrel Oaks Winery in Virginia for a day of wine tasting if desired, picnicking with your friends, dog-friendly fun, and a get together in a relaxed, casual, post-Hollywoof setting.
Here are the deets so you can join us and what you need to do now:

Distance from Olde Towne Pet Resort: 42 miles
Time: 1 pm to 5 pm
RSVP: Please connect with Darlene Bryant, email frmrtcher@gmail.com, and let her know how many people and pets will be attending the winery get together
Pets Welcome: Yes, but they must be leashed at all times.
Activities Planned: Tour the winery, walk through the vineyards, bring a picnic lunch, bring your own food, do a wine tasting
Indoors or Outdoors: Both, and we will do this rain or shine

Wine Tasting and Costs: There is no fee to join us, but if you want to partake in the wine tasting, the prices are as follows:
*Six wines, including whites and reds, for $6 dollars or eleven wines for $11 dollars
Wines will be available for purchase to those over 21 years of age.
Hours of Operation: The winery closes at 6 pm on Sunday, September 21, and it opens at 11 am.
Snacks? There are snacks available on premises and sometimes vendors are brought in.
Food: Bring your own picnic lunch, treats/food and water for your dog(s), and anything you want to eat or drink.

TICKETS AND HOW TO PAY
Tickets are first come, first serve, and guests must pay a $5 fee for each pet you plan to bring (2 maximum per household). We will cap the guest list and pets allowed list, so the sooner you reserve your spot the better.

OBG Cocker Rescue: Established in 1996, OBG is dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and re-homing of cocker spaniels and mixes in the mid-Atlantic region – primarily DC, MD and VA.
Many people think the name “Oldies But Goodies” references the senior dogs that were saved by OBG; however, legend has it that the name “Oldies But Goodies” came about because our founder said that people threw out dogs like a pair of old shoes (no matter what their age).
